Based in the Balkans, it supports and invests in independent fashion designers. These five designers showcased at London Fashion Week are selected from the Belgrade Fashion week to show in London.

Ana Ljubinkovic

This structured, futuristic collection really packed a punch for the opening collection for the Belgrade Fashion Week Showcase. In baby pinks and blues, the models have a hyper-accentuated hourglass figure.

Metallic gold faces made out of glitter transformed the model into doll-like cyborgs terminating the catwalk. On top of these sculpted outfits, are embroidered motives. Some of elegant landscapes, and some with cute kittens, adding an element of cute shyness to these dreamy vixens you see before you.

Vladimir Savic

Simple, modern, and feminine spring to mind when I look at Vladimir’s collection. With my current experience as fashion stylist I noticed, you can really see that he takes every part of the collection into the account from the drenched looking hair, to the white brogues.

The use of block colours, pleats and panels being technically used for SS16 is an ongoing theme for this season. Vladimir has a great understanding of wearable fashion, and playing with the dimensions of the female silhouette. His work makes you re-think how you look at the female form, and where to elongate and shorten parts of the body to give your limbs and torso an interesting and artistic shape.

Budislava

With a history of costume design, Budislava’s aesthetic when it comes to fashion is not what you would expect. A full monochromatic collection reminds me of 60’s chic thrown into the far future, accessorising the models with giant acrylic sunglasses, and neat, slicked back hair.

The distinctive geometric modern architecture and square panels layered that form these sleek looks, paired with crisp white bandage-like heels, makes each model look full of modern style and sharpness. The pairing of material and leather really shows her understanding of fashion construction and design.

George Styler

Multi award-winning designer George Styler brings his “ethno style” aesthetic out again in this season to blind the audience with an array of fabrics, colours and techniques. Floral embroidered outfits and motives of a wolf howling at the moon, carefully placed on each piece of clothing adds the luxury feel to this collection.

Embellished necklines and crowns as accessories adds ethereal presence to the models wearing these freedom of expression garments. A transgressive African princess is who I would want to see in these clothes, breaking the mould and looking incredible doing it.

Ivana Pilja

Everyone should brave a look from this avant-garde designer. The looks of darkness, geometry, forward-thinking and sculpture come together in these dramatic masterpieces.

Ivana won best collection in the past from ELLE Magazine in 2010 and you can see why. The audience at London Fashion Week this season absolutely overwhelmed at this collection. We are all looking forward to see what we get treated with in her next venture into AW16!
