Epitomizing grace with a razor-sharp edge, singer and songwriter Coline Creuzot perfectly defines Houston’s soul through the release of her new EP “Timeless”. With her raw talent and captivating silky vocals, L.A.-based Creuzot recently signed on with Sony, where she co-writes lyrics for Destiny’s Child veteran, Kelly Rowland.

Granddaughter of Percy Creuzot Jr, founder of the massively popular Frenchy’s restaurant, Creuzot was born and raised in Houston with a business background that’s beneficially  serving her growing career in the music industry. Despite choosing a different career path than pursuing the family business, she remains highly optimistic about her passion for music. “Music is something I feel like I was born with,” Creuzot explains, “it has been with me since the beginning, something that resonates with me and I genuinely like to do. I think I get it from my mom, she’s the singer in the family, but my parents have been extremely supportive of my journey; it’s something I dedicated my life to.”

Her Houston upbringing provided a major factor to her development in style, working with the city’s rap elite such as Paul Wall and Slim Thug. Add her musical influences such as Donnie Hathaway and 90s R&B to the equation and the end result are sweet and feminine vocals with an effortlessly cool beat. Creuzot states, “Donnie Hathaway is one of my favorite artists of all time. His music is timeless, he sung with conviction, soul and passion and I try to match that feeling when I go in and write.” Creuzot freestyles in “Truth Is” and the beat is produced by Grammy-Award nominated, multi-platinum producer, with Kim Burse, with credits including Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez, worked as creative director of the music video.

Although Creuzot is premiering her new EP, she’s no stranger to the studio working for years as a songwriter. Songwriting is a behind-the-scenes profession that’s not well known about in mainstream music. She doesn’t mind the anonymity and lack of recognition that is often associated with the profession, but admires the creative process. Creuzot explains about the songwriting process, “It depends on the moment. It depends if I’m going to write for someone else, then my process is a lot different because I have to know what they want to talk about, what they’re feeling and what the audience wants to hear. When I write for myself, it’s different. For me, [the anonymity] doesn’t bother me, I love to go in and create”.

Her two new tracks, “Numb” and “Show Me” beautifully depicts a maturity in her sound and a fearless ability to experiment with beats and lyrics. Her talent for songwriting and for creating overall fun tracks that give a throwback 90s flare while maintaining a sense of modernity is what makes Coline Creuzot a musician to watch.[/fusion_text][youtube id=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP4hvYqaZdU” width=”600″ height=”350″ autoplay=”no” api_params=”” class=””][/youtube][/three_fifth][one_fifth last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][/one_fifth]
