The irony of Atlanta-based rapper Father coming to town on Mother’s Day had me pop in to RBC Sunday night. Known for his 2014 banger “Look at Wrist” and last year’s “Fake AF”, Father came to Texas with his whole Awful Records squad (shout out Lord Narf) and the turn up was real. The crowd wasn’t huge but it was young, diverse and lit AF, and that made me much more happy than I was expecting.

With his influence of New Orleans Bounce and Miami bass blaring throughout his take on trap music, Father kept the crowd on their feet. Many of them rapping right along and passing him their phone so he can bless them with a personal snap for their stories. Don’t get me wrong, his lyrical content isn’t for the easily offended, the misogyny is heavy with this one. If it isn’t about girls then it’s drugs,money or comic references, but his delivery is what sets him apart. While some of my friends informed me they weren’t fans of his music (after peeping my snaps) I felt otherwise about the 21-year-old ATLien who knows how to have a good time.[/fusion_text][/three_fifth][one_fifth last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][/one_fifth][one_full last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][images picture_size=”fixed” hover_type=”none” autoplay=”no” columns=”5″ column_spacing=”13″ scroll_items=”” show_nav=”yes” mouse_scroll=”no” border=”yes” lightbox=”yes” class=”” id=””][image link=”” linktarget=”_self” image=”http://www.austeremag.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/bae5691-edit-1.jpg” alt=””][image link=”” linktarget=”_self” image=”http://www.austeremag.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/bae5875-edit.jpg” alt=””][image link=”” linktarget=”_self” image=”http://www.austeremag.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/father2.gif” alt=””][image link=”” linktarget=”_self” image=”http://www.austeremag.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/bae5909-edit.jpg” alt=””][image link=”” linktarget=”_self” image=”http://www.austeremag.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/ln2.jpg” alt=””][image link=”” linktarget=”_self” image=”http://www.austeremag.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/bae5879-edit.jpg” alt=””][image link=”” linktarget=”_self” image=”” alt=””][/images][/one_full][/fullwidth]
